Steel for Reinforced Concrete Part 1: Hot-rolled Round Steel Bars

Publicity Meeting

On the release day, a publicity meeting was organized by the National Steel Standardization Committee's Steel for Reinforced Concrete Technical Committee and the Wire Rope Technical Committee. Zhang Haideng, deputy director of the Raw Materials Department of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, highlighted the role of these standards in construction, elevators, cableways, and mines. The standards ensure the inherent safety of steel products and reflect a people-oriented safety concept.

Impact on Steel Bar Production

Steel bars, widely used in construction, bridges, railways, roads, and tunnels, are crucial to the national economy and people's livelihood. In 2023, steel bars accounted for 22.1% of China's crude steel production.

Importance of Wire Ropes

Wire ropes, essential in coal, cableways, elevators, petroleum, chemicals, construction, aviation, and shipping, are basic industrial materials. By the end of 2023, over 200 wire rope production companies produced about 3 million tons. Zhang Longqiang noted the significance of wire ropes for mine hoisting, elevators, and cableways due to their crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of engineering equipment and personal safety.
