Product Details
321 stainless steel sheet is a titanium-stabilized austenitic stainless steel designed to improve high-temperature resistance and resistance to intergranular corrosion. It is developed based on 304 stainless steel by adding titanium (Ti), which stabilizes carbon and prevents carbide precipitation during welding or high-temperature exposure.
Because of this feature, 321 is widely used in heat-exposed and welded structural applications.
Chemical Composition of 321 Stainless Steel
| Element | Content (%) |
|---|---|
| Chromium (Cr) | 17.0 – 19.0 |
| Nickel (Ni) | 9.0 – 12.0 |
| Titanium (Ti) | ≥ 5 × C content |
| Carbon (C) | ≤ 0.08 |
| Manganese (Mn) | ≤ 2.0 |
| Silicon (Si) | ≤ 1.0 |
| Iron (Fe) | Balance |
Key Feature
The addition of titanium (Ti) stabilizes carbon and prevents chromium carbide formation, which improves performance in high-temperature and welded conditions.
