DX54D is a high-formability hot-dip aluminized steel grade used for manufacturing aluminized steel tubes and pipes. It is designed for applications requiring better deep drawing performance and more complex forming than DX53D. After aluminizing treatment (aluminum-silicon coating), DX54D combines excellent formability with strong heat and corrosion resistance.
It is widely used in automotive exhaust systems, HVAC ducts, precision formed tubes, and industrial ventilation pipelines.
1. DX54D Material Characteristics
DX54D is a low-carbon deep drawing steel with improved ductility compared to DX53D.
Key characteristics include:
- Excellent deep drawing and stretch forming capability
- Very high elongation and plasticity
- Stable performance in complex tube forming
- Low yield strength for easier shaping
- Good surface quality for coating and welding
Because of its superior formability, DX54D is often selected for more demanding forming operations.
